Sea Life Berlin is an impressive aquarium housed within Berlin Mitte. This aquarium, part of the Sea Life chain of aquariums, contains many fascinating exhibits. More than 4,000 marine animals call Sea Life Berlin home. Visitors can follow the path of the tanks, making the journey from fresh water to salt water, before arriving at the Aquadom. Standing at more than 70 feet tall, the cylindrical Aquadom is the largest freestanding aquarium in the world. Visitors can experience a stunning view of the Aquadom by taking the elevator that ascends through the middle of the Aquadom.

At more than 1,000 feet tall, the Fernsehturm Berlin is the tallest structure in all of Germany. Built in the late 1960s as a symbol of East Germany, the Fernsehturm has become a symbol of the reunification of Germany. The Fernsehturm is a popular tourist attraction as well as a fully functional television and radio tower. Two elevators whisk visitors to either the observation deck or the rotating restaurant, located more than 600 feet above the ground in the tower's sphere.

Located on the famous Museuminsel, or Museum Island, the Pergamon Museum is the most popular museum in all of Germany. This massive museum houses a vast number of artifacts, organized into three collections: the Antiquity Collection, the Islamic Art Museum, and the Middle East Museum. The museum is named for the Pergamon Altar, an impressive artifact depicting an epic battle between the Olympian Gods and their Giant foes. The recovery of this artifact, which is more than 300 feet long, prompted the construction of this museum.

Visitors with an interest in Berlin's recent history can go on one of the Berliner Unterwelten tours. These tours give visitors a glimpse into the fascinating world of Berlin's underground. Tours will take travelers through decrepit World War II bunkers, unused Cold War fallout shelters, and East German tunnels beneath the Berlin Wall. The tours also visit several meticulously restored shelters, allowing visitors to glimpse what life may have been like within these underground structures.

The Legoland Discovery Centre is an exciting stop for children or for adults with a healthy inner child. This fun stop is a miniature Legoland theme park. Guests can ride the Dragon Quest roller coaster, watch how Lego bricks are made in the Lego Factory, or sail remote-controlled Lego pirate ships in a naval battle.
